Tags
Label invoices, contracts, customers, orders, and inventory items with a shared org vocabulary, filter lists, browse cross-entity views, and manage tag colors from Settings.
Tags are reusable labels your organization shares across billing, sales, and catalog records. Use them to mark priority accounts, campaign cohorts, seasonal menus, or internal workflow states, then filter any supported list or open a tag hub to see every record carrying that label.
Tag vocabulary lives under Settings → Organization → Tags and requires
tags:view to browse. Creating, renaming, recoloring, or deleting tags
requires tags:manage. Assigning tags on a record also requires that record's
edit permission plus tags:view.
What you can tag
Tags attach to five record types in v1:

Each record can carry up to 20 tags. Tag names are unique per organization (case-insensitive) and shared across every entity type, "VIP" is one vocabulary entry whether it appears on a customer or an invoice.
Manage the vocabulary
Open Settings → Tags to see every tag in your organization with a usage count and optional color.
Create a tag
Click New tag, enter a name (up to 64 characters), and optionally pick an accent color. Colors tint tag badges throughout the dashboard.
Edit or delete
Use the row actions to rename, recolor, or remove a tag. Deleting a tag
removes it from every assignment. The underlying records are not deleted.
Open the hub
Click a tag name to open its hub page and browse every invoice, contract, customer, order, and item that carries the label.
Build your vocabulary in Settings → Tags before assigning on records. The tag picker on detail pages selects from existing tags only, it does not create new names inline.
Assign tags on a record
On any supported detail page or edit dialog, look for the Tags field:
- Click Add tag and search the vocabulary.
- Select one or more tags. They appear as removable chips.
- Changes save automatically when you have edit access on the parent record.
Tag badges also appear as a column on list pages. Click a badge to filter that list to records carrying the same tag.

Members without tags:view do not see tag columns, filters, or the Tags settings page. Tag information is also hidden throughout the dashboard for those users.
Filter lists by tag
Supported list pages include a Tags filter in the toolbar:
- Select one or more tags to narrow the table.
- Toggle Match all when you need records that carry every selected tag (AND). Leave it off to match any selected tag (OR), the default.
- Combine tag filters with existing status, date, and customer filters.
Filter up to 20 tags at once. Clear the filter to return to the full list.
Use OR filtering for broad cohorts ("Wholesale" OR "Catering"). Switch to Match all when you need a tighter slice ("Wholesale" AND "Past due").
Tag hub (cross-entity view)
From Settings → Tags, click a tag to open its hub. The page shows:
- Total usage across the organization
- Per-entity-type counts (invoices, contracts, customers, orders, items)
- Paginated rows in each section with links to the underlying record
Hub sections respect your entity view permissions, you only see record types you are allowed to browse. For example, a user with invoice access but no order access sees invoice and customer rows but not orders.
Built-in policy grants
These system policies include tags:view so common roles can browse and filter without extra setup:

Grant tags:manage through a custom policy or group when someone should create and maintain the vocabulary. Administrators inherit both tags:view and tags:manage.
