Recall Orders on POS
Search, filter, settle, split, cancel, and refund orders, with location-wide history across every terminal.
Recall on the POS is your in-store order journal, not to be confused with kitchen ticket tools on the cook line. Recall lets cashiers and managers find any recent order at the location, settle satellite orders, and perform floor actions from a detail sheet.
Open Recall from the command bar, the hub Recall card, or the Recall screen after PIN entry.
Location-wide order history
Every terminal at a location shares the same order history on the device. When registers sync, they download recent orders for the venue:
- 90-day retention: Only orders from the last ninety days sync down; older history is removed from the local database
- Pagination: Large histories load in batches; the Recall screen loads 20 at a time with infinite scroll
- Incremental updates: After the first sync, only orders changed since the last check are downloaded
- Live updates: New, settled, cancelled, and split orders appear on the register right away when connected
Conflict rule
When synced history and local disagree, local unsynced orders win until the terminal pushes them. This protects in-progress tabs created offline from being overwritten by another register's sync.
Satellite orders
Orders saved on Satellite handhelds appear in Recall at the location like any other open tab. They have no shift until a Base register settles them.
Fastest path on Base: tap Satellite orders on the hub, this opens Recall with only pending satellite tabs visible. Settlement requires an open shift on the settling Base register; the platform assigns the sale to that drawer.
From the detail sheet, Settle Order works the same as any open order. Satellite terminals cannot settle from their own checkout screen.
Use the standard Recall search and filters when you need the full order history, not only satellite tabs. The hub shortcut is optimized for the counter settling floor checks during a rush.
Search
The search bar matches (after a short pause while you type):
- Order ID
- Tab label / custom name
- Delivery address
- Daily order number
- Line item names
Combine search with filters for precise lookups during a rush.
Filters
Filter chips along the top of the list:
| Filter | Options |
|---|---|
| Status | All, Open (pending), Closed (settled). Refunded orders may need All or search to find. |
| Type | Take-out, delivery |
| Payment method | Cash, card, gift card |
| Operator | My orders quick chip, or All operators dropdown (every operator cached locally for the organization) |
The operator dropdown loads from the local operator database, available to all signed-in roles, not only managers.
Infinite scroll
Results load 20 orders per page. Scroll the list to fetch the next page automatically when you near the bottom. The layout uses a flex scroll container so long histories remain usable after location-wide sync increased volume.
Order detail actions
Tap an order to open a detail sheet on the right. Actions run from this sheet, there is no “resume into Order” path:
| Action | Notes |
|---|---|
| Settle Order | Base registers only for satellite tabs; opens payment dialog with change due modal for cash |
| Split Order | Move line items (including partial quantities) to a new open order |
| Cancel Order | Any operator; restores stock for tracked items |
| Print Receipt | Reprint when a printer is configured |
| Refund Order | Managers only on settled orders; restores stock |
Refunded orders show a read-only notice in the detail sheet.
Split order
Select lines to move to a new open order. Both orders remain independent afterward. If every line moves, the original closes without returning items to stock.
Splitting applies to open orders only. Settled orders cannot be split from the terminal.
Dashboard journal
Managers auditing from the back office use the dashboard Orders journal with broader filters and invoice generation. Recall is optimized for floor speed; the dashboard is the system of record for exports and kitchen ticket timelines.
