Transfers

Move stock between your storerooms and locations, then check it in when it arrives.

Transfers move stock you already own from one room or branch to another, for example storeroom to bar, or downtown to the airport counter. You build the list, ship it out, then check it in at the destination so both stock sheets stay honest. You cannot ship more than you have on hand.

Open Inventory → Transfers. Staff need view permission to browse, create to draft transfers, ship at the source location, and receive at the destination. See Access Control.

Statuses

StatusMeaning
DraftStill building the list; stock has not left yet.
In transitShipped from the source; waiting to be checked in.
PartialSome of the shipment arrived; the rest is still out.

Typical flow

Create a draft

Choose from and to locations (they must be different), then add items that are already on the source stock sheet. Set how many of each you plan to move.

Ship

Ship takes stock off the source location. You cannot ship more than you have on hand. After shipping, the transfer is in transit.

Receive

At the destination, Receive what arrived. You can check in part of the shipment and finish the rest later. Stock is added to the destination sheet when you confirm.

What stays in sync

ShipQuantity downNo change yet
ReceiveNo changeQuantity up

Each ship and receive is recorded in inventory history so you can see where stock went.

Tips

  • Add items only after you pick the from location, the list shows what is on that stock sheet.
  • Partial receives are fine when a delivery arrives in stages.
  • Only draft transfers can be cancelled. Once stock is in transit, finish receiving it.
