Dashboard Navigation

The GreenSails dashboard puts your day-to-day tools in one sidebar. You can also jump anywhere with the keyboard command palette.

Sidebar layout

The sidebar has two zones: a few always-visible primary links, then collapsible sections.

Primary (always visible)

Pinned at the top with no section header:

• Home: KPI overview and quick links
• Analytics: sales overview, period insights, and AI Brief (needs analytics:view)
• Setup: guided wizards for common first-time and add-on setup (see Setup wizards)

Collapsible sections

Sections open automatically when you are viewing one of their pages:

Forecasts is not a sidebar link. Open it from the Inventory overview hub or search for it in the command palette.

Pages you do not have permission for are hidden automatically. The Alerts link in Inventory shows a badge when critical inventory alerts are open.

Modules can hide whole sections

Under Settings → Organization → Modules, you can turn packs such as Sell, Workforce, Catalog, Inventory, Menu boards, and Money on or off. When a module is off, that entire sidebar section is hidden for the organization. Tax & compliance, GCT-01, and the service charge pool live under the Money pack, not a separate module.

Settings hubs

Settings opens two hubs instead of a flat list:

Account

Your personal settings:

• Profile & security: name, email, password, and appearance
• Email alerts: which operational emails you receive

Organization

Grouped cards for the business:

Command palette (⌘K)

Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) anywhere in the dashboard to open the command palette. You can also click the search bar at the top of the sidebar.

The palette gives you instant access to:

• Page navigation: type a page name and press Enter to jump there
• Quick actions: create items, locations, invoices, or contracts without navigating first
• AI features: launch Ask AI or open the AI Brief tab
• Theme switching: light, dark, or system
• Organization switching: jump to the organization picker

Results filter as you type. Your last five visited pages appear as suggestions before you start typing.

First-time onboarding

When you first log into GreenSails, a short Welcome Splash introduces the platform's key areas. You can step through the slides or skip if you already know the system.

After that, each major page can show a brief guided tour on your first visit. Tours run once per page and remember progress across sessions.
