Menu Board on POS
Mark items sold out from the floor, live availability toggles tied to public menu displays.
The POS Menu board screen lets floor staff control what customers see on public menu displays without opening the dashboard. It is separate from the wall-mounted TV browser experience documented under TV display mode.
Menu board management on POS is online-only. Toggles and live board data require an active internet connection.
Opening the screen
Use Menu board in the command bar after PIN entry. The screen loads the current board for the terminal's location, active daypart, timezone, and item list with price points.
If no board is configured for the location, the screen explains that setup is needed in the dashboard under Menu boards.
What you see
When a daypart is active:
- Daypart name and board timezone appear at the top
- Each item shows name, price point labels, and an On display / Hidden toggle
- Sold-out items appear dimmed in the list preview
When no daypart is active, the screen shows Board is closed with the board timezone. That is the same between-service state customers see on the public display.
Toggling availability
Tap On display or Hidden on a row to flip sold-out state. Changes publish immediately and update public displays, typically within seconds.
While a toggle is in flight, the button disables to prevent double submissions.
Offline behavior
If the terminal loses connectivity:
- A banner explains that menu board is online-only
- Toggles are disabled
- Cached board data may still display for reference, but new toggles cannot be sent until reconnect
Live updates
The screen refreshes automatically when edits are made from the dashboard or another terminal, no manual reload needed.
Dashboard users with menu-boards:set-availability can also toggle from the board detail Live preview panel, POS and dashboard stay in sync.
Terminal settings (managers)
Managers access Terminal settings from the gear icon in the command bar. Settings are grouped into tabs: Receipt, Labels, Drawer, Kitchen, Options, and Kiosk. This is where hardware is paired per register:

Under Labels, choose dialect (ESC/POS or ZPL), size preset, and what to print (name, price). Use Test print before returning to the floor. Device preferences are stored locally per terminal ID, each physical machine keeps its own printer and drawer mapping.
When a label printer is paired and the terminal is online, the dashboard Print label → Terminal path can send jobs to this register. See Barcodes & labels.
No-sale on the hub and receipt reprints in Recall depend on the receipt printer / drawer settings being configured.
